Our orphanage is located in the State of Rajasthan, situated at the northwestern part of India and is the biggest state in the country. The huge portion of the state of Rajasthan houses the biggest Indian desert – the Thar Desert known as the “Desert State of India”. It encompasses about 70% of total landmass of Rajasthan. The Aravali Range of mountains splits the state into two geographical zones, desert at one side and forest belt on the other. The climate of Rajasthan can be broadly classified into four distinct seasons. Pre-monsoon, monsoon, post-monsoon and winter. Rajasthan is known for its traditional, colorful art and is culturally rich and has artistic and cultural traditions which reflect the ancient Indian way of life. They are also famous for their majestic forts and intricately carved temples.
